Sophie and Rowley Edwards went into business with Jasper de Trafford, a family friend, in 2020. Villa Bologna pottery has been in Jasper’s family since the 1920’s.

Sophie, whose mother is Maltese, spent her early childhood on the island. Growing up she always remembered the pottery with great affection, the villa and its pottery were interwoven with so many childhood memories.

Rowley and Sophie got married at Villa Bologna in 2017 and having been working in East Africa for five years they decided to move to Malta.

It seems that Villa Bologna Pottery, always a family business, now runs in the Edwards blood too. Rocco and Zadie, Rowley and Sophie’s children, are often spotted playing with fistfuls of clay in the shop in Attard.
